Long Season Farm, located at 68 Maple Lane in Kerhonkson, NY is seeking qualified applicants to fill two positions for the 2018 growing season. Pay for both positions is $15 / hr. We do not have on farm housing, so candidates are expected to have reliable transportation to and from Kerhonkson.

About Our Farm

Long Season Farm is a small, diversified, certified organic vegetable farm focusing on 4 season production of high quality vegetables for farmers markets, wholesale, and winter CSA in Ulster County NY. We are entering our fifth season of production, and our third season of summer production. Our farm has been growing rapidly each season and we are now in need of additional labor to help increase production, maintain quality, and facilitate our expansion onto a new leased plot of land.

Our farm does not use any four wheeled tractors and utilizes minimal tillage. We strive to be innovative and efficient. We value quality, speed and precision. Our work place is inclusive and evolving.

Full Time

We are seeking a full-time employee to begin work in late April or early May. This employee would be an integral part of our farm, playing and active role in all manner of daily farm tasks ranging from weeding, transplanting, and harvesting, to greenhouse work, record keeping, and equipment maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of relevant experience, a demonstrated ability to work hard, and an interest in 4 season vegetable production.

This is a full-time position which will be scheduled for 40 hours each week.

We hope that we will be able to extend this position into a year-round job for the right candidate, though the hours would likely decrease to part-time during the winter months.

Part Time

We are seeking a part-time employee to begin work in mid to late May. This employee would be a key member of our harvest team during our weekly Tuesday and Friday harvest days. They would also be expected to perform a supporting role in all other farm tasks as needed. These would primarily be tasks such as weeding and transplanting.

The ideal candidate will have some experience working on a farm, take direction well, and have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.

This is a part-time, seasonal position which will be scheduled for two to three days each week depending on the work load.
